Where is Development?

December 16th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

I’m writing small fun reflection from last class on Development Indicators. Well, through the entire classes of preliminary semester, we have talked about what is development. I came to know many stories and insights.

During the last class we have discussed about where is development? Prof. asked the question, as expected the answers were different like New York, Washington, Geneva, UN, and so on. In a same way, there were some other answers such as people, mind, etc.

Finally prof. just added, Cooperation is at ‘heart’ and below that everything is DEMOGRAPHY’

Hey all

It’s November 6, 2011 today and I’m writing early in the morning. I arrived here in Pavia on October 30. I must say first few days were awful ti me. I came via Milan Malpensa Airport, things were completely new. I made a friend at Airport, named Sarah. I must say many thanks to her. She helped me to reach up to Pavia.

I reached something like 9 am in Pavia, came out from Railway station. Then reached hotel very easily. Room was not ready at that time, so I thought of hanging around for an hour. I was there alone, and my friend loneliness was with me all the time. We walked together, then went back to the Hotel.

The worst part of few days were the language barrier, unfortunately I could not speak Italian so far. I had a terrible experience finding University here, I asked many people in street but hardly few, very few people speaks English. So I had to struggle a lot to find location of University. I was tired, so slept early that day.

On next day, October 31, I woke up early and took a map. I didn’t asked any one. I just followed a map and found University and my residence within 10 minutes of walking. Thank god maps worked.

The lesson I learned were:
1) Make friend while you travel, for sure that would be helpful
2) It’s better to know at least few native language, for me it was Italian
3) It’s also better to have Map.

More stories will be there soon !

November 6th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Hi everyone

Earlier I have used this blog to share about my learning journey of Coady International Institute, St. Francis Xavier University. I studied Diploma in Development Leadership there in year 2009.

Now, I’m studying Master’s in Cooperation and Development here in Institute of Advanced Study (IUSS), University of Pavia. This place is in small city called ‘Pavia’ in Italy.

I’m gonna share my learning experiences through this log once again. This blog is also my own friend to share my joy and difficulties throughout the study period.

Those who are reading this carefully, thanks a lot.

Note Notely.net

August 30th, 2009 § Leave a Comment

Hey How is going?

I hope everything is super cool.

Last week David Fletcher, Education Programs Manager in Coady International Institute discussed about the learning portfolio. I think education portfolio is highly important that we could make for the benefit of our own. I hope we will use our best of the colourful files that were given for making learning portfolio.

Today, I just wanted to share one website that we could also use as learning portfolio. There is a great website called Notely.net. I found this website couple of days before, I tried it. It’s good for student like us. You can use this website for various purposes like learning journal; education calendar; taking notes; resource web links collections; contact keepers and many more. I think the journal section could be use as learning portfolio. You can do more if you use the site.

Hey buddy, this is free service and if you do not want to spend lot of your time going to website and doing stuff, don’t worry. Notely is also available in Facebook as an application.

I hope you enjoy the site.

Be cool…
